For the second consecutive year the Miroglio Group, in collaboration with SDA Bocconi School of Management, funded the scholarship dedicated to entrepreneur Franco Miroglio, which covers the subscription fees for the Master's in Fashion, Experience & Design Management (MAFED).

To celebrate the end of the 13th year of the MAFED, on 9 December 2014 Giuseppe Miroglio, Chairman of the Miroglio Group, awarded the much sought-after scholarship to 28 year-old Chiara Morgera, an outstanding student from Naples.

The initiative not only demonstrates the Miroglio Group’s ongoing commitment to investing in the training and development of human resources, it also represents an important focus on young and deserving students that have a strong interest in fashion and textiles and who have aspirations of embarking on an international career in the fashion industry.

The MAFED was designed in collaboration with the Altagamma Foundation and aims to train talented students from around the world on the managerial aspects required in the fashion, design and luxury goods sectors. Held in English, the Milan-based Master's course is the only one of its kind at international level and is taught by highly-experienced lecturers and high-profile guest speakers. The syllabus combines traditional lessons with frequent visits to local companies and institutions, and also includes intensive work placements. Founded and directed by Stefania Saviolo and Erica Corbellini, the past thirteen years of the MAFED course have seen nearly 600 students pass through the university’s halls. Many of these have gone on to become successful managers or entrepreneurs, competent in the complex management of the production, distribution and merchandising of products and services in the fashion and design sectors.

The support received for the Master’s degree from private enterprises such as the Miroglio Group, the first company to award a MAFED scholarship, represents unequivocal recognition of the course’s validity in both educational and professional terms, confirming that the programme is an effective means of introducing graduates into managerial positions in specialised fashion, design and luxury goods companies.
