The Miroglio Group is today inaugurating the new Miroglio Maroc production facility designed for manufacturing womenswear.
Joining the Group’s top management at the ceremony, President Giuseppe Miroglio and Miroglio Fashion’s new CEO Hans Hoegstedt, will be representatives of the Government of Morocco and the Italian Consul General in Casablanca, Alessandro Ferranti.
The plant will employ a staff of around seventy working under the leadership of Daniele Bonomi, production manager of the Miroglio Maroc apparel manufacturing platform which has been up and running since 1994.
“This is an important day for the Miroglio Group”, explains President Giuseppe Miroglio. “Ever since our company’s founding in 1947, manufacturing has always played a major role, leading to the opening over the years of both textiles and ready-to-wear clothing production plants throughout the Mediterranean basin. Over time our Group’s identity has evolved towards the retail market, but industrial production continues to be a cornerstone of our business model. This is borne out by the tens of millions of Euros invested in latest generation digital fabric printing”.
For Hans Hoegstedt, appointed CEO at Miroglio Fashion just a few weeks ago: “Miroglio Maroc Factory will be a focal point for clothing manufacture in Morocco. Thanks to WRAP, SEDEX and BSCI certification, we will have a prime site complying as well with ethical, social and environmental standards guaranteeing responsible production, key elements in social compliance”.
For the Private Labels division, the opening of the Casablanca plant represents a significant development opportunity: “Having a fully-integrated and certified supply chain puts us in a unique position among European brands”, adds Roberta Trinchero, Miroglio Fashion’s Private Labels manager. “This is a value being recognized by major players in the fashion sector in both Europe and the USA, as well as leaders in e-commerce worldwide”.
